Mathematical Programming Society

The Mathematical Programming Society is an international organization dedicated to the promotion and the maintenance of high professional standards in the subject of mathematical programming. It is incorporated as a non-profit tax-exempt scientific organization in the United States. It publishes the journals Mathematical Programming A and B, consisting of technical articles on all aspects of the subject; the MPS/SIAM Series on Optimization, comprising monographs and texts on particular optimization topics; and the newsletter Optima. Every three years the Society sponsors the International Symposium on Mathematical Programming. Every other year it supports the Conference on Integer Programming and Combinatorial Optimization (IPCO). It awards a number of the most prestigious prizes in the field. The Society of Plastics Engineers

Every day the Society of Plastics Engineers (SPE) helps people and companies in the plastics industry succeed. How? By spreading knowledge , strengthening skills and promoting plastics. SPE is the only place where people from all parts of the industry can come together around important issues and technologies. SPE’s contribution to the plastics industry for over 60 years has made a significant difference to the technologies and innovations the industry enjoys today. In the process, we’ve developed a 20,000-member network of leading engineers, scientists and other plastics professionals, including technicians, salespeople, marketers, retailers and representatives from tertiary industries.

Today, the industry is more interdependent than ever, and professional networks have taken on global dimensions. Such networks are almost impossible to develop and maintain in our fast-paced industry. Participation in SPE is a key success factor for those who want to thrive in today’s business environment.

American Mathematical Society

Founded in 1888 to further mathematical research and scholarship, the American Mathematical Society fulfills its mission through programs and services that promote mathematical research and its uses, strengthen mathematical education, and foster awareness and appreciation of mathematics and its connections to other disciplines and to everyday life.

The Society has over 32,000 individual members and 550 institutional members in the United States and around the world. Programs and services for AMS members and the mathematical community include professional programs such as meetings and conferences, surveys, employment services; publications including Mathematical Reviews (a database of over 2 million items covering over 60 years of mathematics literature), journals, and over 3,000 books in print; support for Young Scholars Programs and the Mathematical Moments program of the Public Awareness Office; resources such as MR Lookup for researchers and authors; and a Washington office that connects the mathematical community with the broader scientific community and with decision makers who determine science funding.

The AMS headquarters is located in Providence, Rhode Island, and the Society has offices also in Ann Arbor, Michigan, and Washington D.C.
